Ordinary day

While the first step on this journey was taken almost four years ago now, it feels, suddenly, like the end point is looming large. The number of weeks left in Dublin is finite (all going well). The sun shines on summery days, I do the things I always seem to have done and wonder at the huge changes about to take place. The very normal, going-about-the-business-of-living stuff feels a teeny bit grander, just because today’s coffee will be one of the last. It’s being written about, recorded for posterity, noted for a day when I might miss just this what-used-to-be my normal. Or I might just forget. Or never look back. It’s hard to conceive of how a completely different set of circumstances will impact on me.
